CMF | EAT

Up until now, Honda Design has never made the themes of its internal research public. CMF | EAT, which is the first public exhibition of a research theme, has been unveiled to widespread acclaim. This exhibition showcases never-before-seen background stories, as well as the actual processes involved in creation. Creativity is stimulated through collaboration, directed by the designers themselves.

Honda Design is committed to creating products which are a good fit for people, designed to enhance daily life. Honda's CMF design aspires to create products which are truly exceptional through the harmony of three elements: Colour, Material, and Finish.

Eating is an everyday occurrence, but also an experience that can satisfy the soul. From selecting the ingredients and taste testing to plating and presentation, the creativity involved in preparing a meal is similar to that employed in CMF design.

"If you don't know your ingredients, you won't be able to make good food." With this in mind, the CMF designers come to grips with their materials on a daily basis. Their role resembles that of a chef who pours their whole heart into the creation of a single dish.

CMF | EAT is a surprising juxtaposition, but the two are very alike.
