The "Forms of Japanese Handwork - Tradition and Craftsmanship", hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Hong Kong and the Japan Foundation for International Exchange, will be held from March 2nd to 14th at the Exhibition Hall, Ground Floor, Hong Kong Central Library.
There are a variety of handicrafts that come from everyday life and are practical. Pottery, dyeing and weaving, metal crafts, lacquerware, wood and bamboo crafts, paper, etc., play the characteristics of their respective raw materials, and use appropriate technology (craftsmanship) to create a variety of objects that are convenient to use and aesthetically pleasing.
The exhibition will be based on the Japanese traditional production method, with the representative of "traditional handicrafts" as the core, supplemented by the works of craftsmen, to show you the traditional techniques and raw materials from all over Japan. "The form of manual work."

During the exhibition, Naoyuki Asai, second-generation artisan practitioner of Rooketsu and Japanese batik, will share the manufacturing process of natural indigo dyed leather called SUKUMO Leather.
